a year's change

It was about this time last year that our family was preparing for our move to the north. My husband spent months preparing for intense interviews that would eventually land him a promotion in-house with his company. Our family moved from Memphis to Milwaukee, + a lot was changing.

We sold our house and bought a fixer-upper, I had to pause my work as a photographer + became a full-time mom, homeschooler + homemaker. Among these changes (+ more) I had decided that all things business + personal would live under one social media roof as a means of simplifying this area of my life + that it did!

However, after a year of posting personal, photography, presets, programs + everything in between I have decided that my personal life needs to remain private. A few years back I took a break from social media. I fasted every social app during the Lenten season + since then have felt very differently about posting my girls on a forum so freely accessible to the world. Yes, Instagram can be a beautiful blessing for a small business like mine, which is why I have decided to dust off the KKP handle + begin posting all things photography, presets + programs on this account again.

This past week my family + I took a trip to Sanibel Island, FL for my birthday + ever since being back I’ve been craving more sunshine, warmer temps + the color green. So, I’m sharing this beautiful Motherhood Session from last spring/summer.

This stunning momma was carrying not just one, but TWO babies + upon their arrival she became a momma to three boys! This gorgeous Motherhood Session was a hybrid one, meaning I shot both film + digital images. My goal when working with both mediums is to make sure the image colors + tones match. Sweet Sisters on Film | Kyle Kelley Photography | Milwaukee Newborn Film Photographer

New Year, new post!! As 2022 begins I’m full of all the hope + excitement for what my seventh year in business will bring. There is a lot to share, including the launch of Kyle Kelley Programs + the first photography education opportunity, the Big Camera Membership, happening THIS month. The SECRET is out!!

The Launch of Kyle Kelley Programs

Today is a very exciting (+ a tad nerve-wracking) day because I'm finally sharing quite possibly my biggest announcement yet!! The third tier of KKP will be launching in the new year: Kyle Kelley PROGRAMS!!!

As you know I have been working on online education for quite some time now, but here's a brief back story. Just when I thought the timing to create was right, COVID hit + having the stay-at-home order in place I was pretty much unable to put any work toward these courses. Slowly as life started to go back to “normal” I got back into the swing of things, but something always felt off with what I was working on. And then… we moved. More adversity, more changes, more delays, more frustration. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so launching something I wasn't fully confident in wasn't an option.

As the courses sat on the back burner, one more change was headed my way. What I thought was going to be an online course or two evolved + it all happened at a hair appointment (I'll explain more of this later)! But suddenly after this final change, everything felt right.

You see, I didn't want to have just another online course. I didn't want to create something that would be a huge, unattainable investment. I didn't want to produce something where an eager student couldn't reach out to follow up on something they felt lost or confused on. I wanted to create something different + offer real change. So, Kyle Kelley Programs was born + in January 2022 I will be launching two memberships.

The Big Camera Membership will be the first program to launch + was built for moms, bloggers/influencers, aspiring photographers + anyone interested in learning how to use their DSLR (or “big”) camera. The second program is for motherhood + newborn photographers where we'll focus on all things business, client communication, session flow + so much more.

The best part is that it's all at your fingertips for a monthly rate. You can join when you want + cancel your membership when you feel like you've gotten what you need. Momma + Her Boys | A Very Cozy In-Home Newborn Session on Film | Kyle Kelley Photography | Milwaukee Newborn Photographer

As the temperatures continue to drop + the snowflakes begin to fall here in the north, I figured what better time to share this cozy in-home newborn session from this past winter than now?! Whether we’re in the KKP Studio or your home by the fire, one of the pros to being a Milwaukee newborn photographer in the winter is that it’s always warm + snuggly during newborn sessions!! These four sure knew how it’s done!!

This family is very near + dear to my heart. I have had the honor of working with them since big brother was growing in momma’s belly!! We have been through Motherhood Sessions, Newborn Sessions + a bunch of Family Sessions throughout the last three years! It was such a joy to meet the newest member + capture this new family of four!!

I hope you enjoy the film images from this session as much as I loved photographing it!! This job truly is a dream come true!!
